She’s angry that a bridezilla won’t let her wear color.
A wedding guest from Miami who criticized the bride for sending out a memo telling people not to wear five certain shades to her wedding has become popular on X.
Nicole, the guest, posted a screenshot of the directions earlier this week. It has since been seen more than 5 million times and has caused a lot of debate.
The order said, “Please do not wear these colors,” then listed them: slate, white, light green, dusty pink, and light green.
The bride said that certain people at the wedding were only allowed to wear those colors.
As an example, all of the girls were going to wear dusty pink, while the groomsmen were going to wear khaki.
People in the same family were the only ones who could wear slate.
Nicole was clearly angry about the memo because she wrote on X, “I just got these instructions for what wedding guests should wear. I get the request not to wear white (kind of), but the rest? This is Miami, it’s hot, and the wedding is outside.” LOL. Leave this place. “I’m not going.”
The invitee has since made her X account private, but her complaint was shared many times on the social media site, which led to many replies.
Some people thought Nicole was being ridiculous when she didn’t show up to the wedding.
One critic said, “I can’t imagine asking for something like this, but I’m sorry, you lose all credibility in the Discussion of Wedding Etiquette when you say you don’t really get the No White rule.”
“To be honest, I think this request makes a lot of sense.” There are only four colors guests shouldn’t wear (not counting white, which is a given), and the little black dress, which is the most clear choice, is still acceptable. “You can still choose from a lot of colors,” said a second.
Others, though, agreed with Nicole and said the bride was wrong to ask for certain colors.
“It’s silly that men can’t wear khaki.” A man said, “It’s a standard suit color for a lot of men, and since it’s a warm-weather outdoor wedding, it’s even more desirable. No one cares if the groomsmen match a guest if it’s a standard suit color.”
Someone else said that the directions said the bride would be too hard to live with.
“The marriage has no more than five years,” they snarked.
