Governor Greg Abbott has appointed new members to the Texas Juvenile Justice Board, including local figures. The board is responsible for developing and implementing rules to govern and oversee the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.
New Members
The new members of the board include Cynthia “Cyndi” Wheless of McKinney, who is the Presiding Judge of the 417th District Court in Collin County, and Scott Matthew of Georgetown, who is the Executive Director and Chief Juvenile Probation Officer of Williamson County Juvenile Services. Governor Abbott has also named Scott Matthew as Chair of the Board.
