In a significant development, Delaware County deputies have apprehended a third suspect in connection with a series of robberies, including a tragic incident that resulted in the loss of life at Polaris South in 2023. Anthony Blakely, 27, was taken into custody on Wednesday, marking the latest arrest linked to the string of crimes that unfolded last year.
The arrest of Blakely follows the apprehension of Zackeyis Davis and Darius Wynn, who were charged with their alleged involvement in multiple robberies that occurred in 2023. The crimes reached a devastating climax when Alejandro Fajardo-Torres, a 43-year-old customer at an AutoZone store on Sancus Boulevard, lost his life while bravely attempting to intervene in a robbery. Blakely is now set to face an arraignment hearing on January 16th.

The charges brought against the trio by a Delaware County grand jury on December 21 are extensive and reflect the severity of their alleged criminal activities. Zackeyis Davis faces charges including murder, aggravated murder, attempted murder, aggravated robbery (2), felonious assault, and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Darius Wynn is charged with murder, felonious assault, aggravated robbery (2), and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Anthony Blakely, the latest suspect, is facing charges of murder, aggravated murder, felonious assault, aggravated robbery, and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.
The crimes attributed to the suspects revolve around a series of robberies that targeted auto parts retail stores in the Delaware County area. Classified as an enterprise, the suspects, along with other unidentified individuals, allegedly engaged in a pattern of corrupt activity from May 14, 2023, to September 16, 2023.
Court documents reveal that Davis and Wynn are accused of robbing Los Mariachis on three separate occasions and subsequently targeting a Burger King for robbery. The spree escalated on August 21 when the suspects stole from AutoZone stores on East Dublin Granville Road and Westerville Road. Tragically, the events reached a fatal climax on August 24 when the three men entered the AutoZone on Sancus Avenue near Polaris Fashion Place. Multiple calls reporting shots being fired prompted Columbus police to respond, and emergency crews arrived at the scene within eight minutes, pronouncing Alejandro Fajardo-Torres deceased.
While Davis was initially arrested in September, with his bond increased from $5 million to $10 million on Wednesday, Wynn also saw an escalation in his bond from $3 million to $5 million. Both defendants are scheduled to appear in court again on February 13th.
The arrests and ongoing legal proceedings underscore the severity of the alleged crimes committed by the suspects and the impact of their actions on the community. The tragic loss of Alejandro Fajardo-Torres serves as a stark reminder of the real-world consequences of criminal enterprises and the importance of swift and decisive law enforcement responses to safeguard public safety. As the legal process unfolds, the community awaits justice for the victims and accountability for those accused of perpetrating these heinous acts.
