Intense Manhunt Underway in Nebraska After Suspect Shoots at Officers and Takes Hostage, Authorities Report

Police are looking for the person who shot and killed cops trying to serve an arrest warrant Thursday night in Omaha, Nebraska, then took a woman hostage and ran away.
The Nebraska State Patrol said in a news statement that the suspect is 42-year-old Council Bluffs resident Jason Davenport. According to X, he is about 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs between 170 and 200 pounds. He drove off in a gray Ford Fusion with Iowa license plates.
They said that anyone who sees Davenport should call 911 right away because he may be hurt and armed.
State police said, “Davenport is wanted for arrest because he is thought to have gotten away from police last week.”
They said that Davenport came out of the house firing a gun on Thursday night while cops were trying to get in touch with him.
police and an Omaha Police officer fired back, but police say Davenport was able to hold a woman hostage and get away in a Ford Fusion. There were no injuries to cops or troopers.
The officials did not say anything about the hostage’s name or whether she is related to Davenport.
“Officers and troopers chased, but they couldn’t see the car as it went through Upland Park,” troopers said. “Officers from several agencies searched the area with the help of NSP and OPD helicopters, but they couldn’t find Davenport, the car, or his hostage.”
